Basketball Birthday Party

You will score big time with your guests when you throw a basketball birthday party.  All of the ideas and photos are from Paula of Party Like Paula. She hosted a wonderful 7th birthday basketball bash for her son Jake, fit for a sports superstar.  Here are some of her slam dunk images:

Outdoor Basketball Decorations: It is a great idea to welcome your guests with porch decorations.  These bright balloons with a basketball on top will really let attendees know that they have arrived at the right place.  The wreath formed with mini balls, with an initial in the middle, is such a unique door adornment.

Basketball Table and Centerpiece Ideas – Once you are in the house, there are so many unique table decorations that Paula used.  The black and white tablecloth, that resembles a referee uniform, is a great base to show off the rest of the basketball theme items.

Orange is the predominant color, which makes sense because it matches the color of a basketball.   The plates, napkins, and balloons, and centerpiece box  are different shades of orange.  The shoes placed on an orange box is a wonderful idea for a centerpiece, as are the basketballs personalized with Jake’s name and age.

Basketball Decorations: There are lots of clever ideas that you will see in close-up shots below:

Paula chose to hang orange balloons upside down.  Who needs helium?   You will also see photos hanging from the ceiling.    These are images of her son at different ages.

Basketball Food – The orange color carries over to the food with melon balls, cheese snacks, and orange Gatorade.  She also created signs with basketball names for each one.

This scoreboard is amazing and completely hand-made.  Paula tells you how she create it on her blog. It makes the perfect backdrop for the cake table and transforms room into a basketball stadium.

The basketball cake looks delicious, but it is the stand made with mini basketballs that is the star of the show.

Basketball Favors: Each guest was sent home with a basketball cup filled with treats.  What a great way to thank your guests for attending the party.

More Basketball Ideas: I just scratched the surface of ideas from Paula.  She goes into much more detail on her blog and even sells printables.  Be sure to visit it to get specifics on making this party.

Hi Jennifer,
I know that Paula made the score board and food cards. You may wish to contact her to see if she sells the food cards. If not, I found some on Etsy.
