Kids Graduation Party

Whether you are hosting a kids graduation party or end of the year  celebration, this “You’re One Smart Cookie” theme is perfect.  Created by Melissa Newell of the blog My Party Passion with printables by Eye Candy Event Details, this party is sweet!

Refreshments: Tables have been loaded with a number of cookies.  This party includes everything from sugar cookies in the shape of apples (complete with red and clear sprinkles) to cookie bars and chocolate chip cookies.  Melissa has placed the cookies on plates, trays, and even in decorative glass jars.  She then has a container full of ice in which she has stored jugs of white and chocolate milk.  (The children are not expected to carry these jugs around with them, and instead cups and straws are available on the table.  There’s even a marker so that guests can label their cups.)

Melissa had the great idea to ask attendees to bring a dozen cookies, so with everyone “chipping in” expenses were greatly reduced.  No doubt everyone enjoyed contributing to this delicious celebration.

Decorative milk jugs:  What goes better with cookies than milk?  These unique decorations have been designed to look like little graduates.  Melissa has placed graduation caps on them, combining this with googly eyes and paper eyeglasses.  She even drew a smile on a piece of paper and placed this inside the glass jugs so that they could not be moved.  A colorful striped straw completes the look and helps bring the colors of the party together.

Signs: Melissa has placed signs throughout the party, welcoming guests or labeling food items.  These signs are particularly fun because they are written on small chalkboards or printed in frames and include the mascot of the party – a graduating chocolate chip cookie!  (I happened to see similar frames at IKEA for around one dollar each. )

Photo Booth: Not only is this a fun activity, but guests can bring home pictures of themselves as party favors. Guests at Melissa’s party were able to use white or chocolate milk mustaches to add personality to their photos.  (Place these mustaches on sticks so that party goers’ hands are not included in the pictures.)
