First Communion is an important day in a child’s life. If you are planning on attending a communion celebration, be sure to bring a gift. If the child is one you know well, you may consider making a unique and personalized item for the child.
You may consider:
• A Picture Frame Collage: You may find frames that hold a variety of pictures, or you can purchase a large frame and fill it with your own collage. This is especially useful if you have children who grew up with the Communicant, as pictures of a child and his or her friends are a wonderful decoration for a bedroom.
• A Photo Blanket: You may upload your own photos online and get them printed on a blanket that you design. You’ll be able choose the color and how many pictures to include. Again, this makes an excellent and useful addition to a child’s bedroom.
If you’re interested in purchasing a religious gift for the celebration, you may wish to personalize this as well. Consider any of the following:
• Children’s Bibles: The Communicant may not yet own their own Bible, and you can have their name engraved on the cover to demonstrate the importance of the date. You may also choose a Bible that includes pictures or includes stories written in a manner that is easier for kids to read. You can then have the book further personalized it by having it bound in leather in the communicant’s favorite color.
• Patron Saint Medals: Patron saints help children and adults alike in various areas of life, and the communicant may have a particular favorite or a personal prayer request. You can get these medals (or pendants) in gold or silver and hang them on a simple chain as a meaningful and spiritual gift.
