40th Birthday Party

40th Birthday Party

You should be really lucky to have a fantastic surprise birthday party like Scott did for his 40th Birthday!  Laurel and Pam of Sugarplum Sisters made sure that this milestone birthday party was perfect in every way, by including everything Scott loved and making sure every detail was covered. Let us take a closer look at what this party was all about.

Laurel and Pam aimed for a rustic ambiance, with chalkboard and burlap as the accessories that created this effect. The table cover was burlap, with chalkboard cloth forming the runner. They served the food in cardboard boxes, instead of plates. Now, isn’t that unusual? Similarly, benches were used instead of chairs, for that perfect outdoor party effect. Completing the table décor were peonies in clear bottles, and I have to say that they add a dainty little note to this masculine setting.

beer

The guests’ knowledge of beer was put to the test with a game named “Cheers to 40.” Custom created grading cards were used for notes, and guesses were marked on  mini chalkboard labels attached to each stein. Wasn’t the idea of chalkboard labels simply brilliant? These steins were also party favors that the guests took home after the party.

snacks

An assortment of drinks were set up, next to several bowls of snacks for the guests to enjoy munching on. The chalkboard runner that ran along the length of the table served as the base for interesting and encouraging messages, to cheer the guests along. Matching the burlap in the arrangement are rustic wooden crates and trays that corral the drinks and glasses.

desserts

And this is the actual deal! The desserts were very tempting, with a range of choices like ice cream pops, cheesecakes, pecan pies and cookie sandwiches forming an impressive array.

cookies

Guests also took home cookies resembling chalkboard messages. The best part about them was that they featured Scott’s signature sayings.

water

The Sugar Plum sisters show us how they pay attention to every single detail; even the water bottles had custom print labels that read “Cheers to 40 years.”

The fun didn’t end there, the icing on the cake was the live music band that entertained the party guests. Scott couldn’t have asked for a better birthday celebration. We are sure that he’ll forever remember and cherish this party. Great going Laura and Pam, you are simply the best!
