Mark, the birthday boy, was turning forty! Since he was brought up in the south, his wife felt it was only befitting to celebrate his birthday with a bourbon and bluegrass theme, to highlight this unique factor. Jenni Raulli of Bloom Designs Online, who was in charge, set up a clever party, and this is where we are headed today. Come along and see how splendid everything was!
Welcoming the guests, is an elegant wooden sign with elegant black lettering, placed within a smooth and polished golden frame. Doesn’t its prim and proper look contrast beautifully with the raw wooden finish of the bench and the rustic candle holder beside it?
The brilliant buffet table brings the navy and burlap color scheme into focus. Cookies of various flavors are packed into clear glass jars, with burlap entwining the neat black and white food labels. Cupcakes feature brilliant banjo and bourbon bottle toppers, and sit smugly in a tray with a raw wooden finish. A magnificent M, rests on a paneled backdrop made from 6-foot wooden boards.
Here is a spice cake that is as stunning as it is simple! The smooth blue frosting is offset by the textured cake topper that reads 40. I love the idea of placing it on a blue base that exact copies the cake’s color, and how the two are differentiated with a layer of crumbs.
A feast for the eyes, these dessert cheese cake shots are perfectly color coordinated to fit the color theme. Tiny flags wave birthday messages on the top, forming a stunning display.
Who could possibly resist this rich and delightful tiered muffin and doughnut arrangement? They make the color palette come alive. The interesting flag on top and burlap that wraps around the stem show us the special attention to detail.
Mini Elvis pies in little beige cups look gooey and delicious, and they welcome the guests to a blast of flavor with each bite.
A Bourbon party theme is incomplete without the presence of the unique American whiskey. Mark’s guests sampled not one, but three varieties of Bourbon at the bourbon and cigar bar. Isn’t that an amazing arrangement, with the bar crafted from a wooden slab atop two barrels? Everything from the flower arrangement and crystal whiskey bottles, to the shelf of party favors and the beautiful brown cake are prim, proper and simply brilliant.
More beverages and drinks welcome the guests at this beverage bar. Two signature drinks, Kentucky Mules and the Southern Socialite were the stars. Jenni created an interesting arrangement, with a folding step ladder holding water bottles, mason jars and wine glasses. On the other side is a tall beverage dispenser with the colored drink adding an attractive punch of color to the overall arrangement.
Guests savored their drinks in crystal clear wine glasses. The base of the glasses have a circular label displaying 40, attached with navy thread to add that special touch.
Tables are lined with burlap table runners and the décor arrangement includes beautiful hydrangea clusters in water jars with burlap threads tying them to the theme. Grand candle holders with an antique finish also alternate with the flower arrangements.
That brings us to the end of a splendid bourbon and bluegrass birthday party. Don’t you think Jenni did an amazing job at executing every detail perfectly? Great job, Jenni!
