Class reunion ideas came to me quickly the moment I walked into the hall at a recent 40th reunion bash. Mega talented Diane Winton did a fantastic job of designing each table with a combination of photo in frames, scattered photos, trophies, candles and eagles (the mascot.) At the front of the hall, a burst of balloons highlighted the cake table which was filled with photos from the classes yearbook.
The best part of each table was the display of yearbook photos, whether they were scattered on the table or placed in frames, the guests lit up when they walked around the room looking at them. You will also notice awards and trophies on the tables from a variety of sports and other extracurricular activities.
The great thing about the decorations is that they did not look like they were expensive. Diane did a lot with plain candle holders and dressed them up with decals.
The use of a CD holder to show off photos of students in music and theater programs was brilliant.
I liked that each table was different, but had the same candle and frame elements.
Another nice touch is the wooden letters glued and stacked on top of each other.
The school colors are brown and white and Diane incorporated gold into the tables as well. I like that she used boxes and other props vary the heights of the items.
Baby pictures from the high school yearbook made a wonderful centerpiece.
Many of the glasses on the tables had sparkling brown tulle to tie all of them together. Great tip alert: Diane put little beads in the tulle to ensure that they stayed in the glasses.
Each table had a square mirror as a base for the decorations which added lots of brightness.
While it was the people who really made the reunion so much fun, it was the photos incorporated into the decorations that offered great memories of the high school years.
