First Communion Party Ideas

A First communion party is a very special event and a celebration of joy and blessings. Erika of Adorable Prints did an excellent job of hosting Joshua’s Holy Communion in a praiseworthy manner and offers lots of wonderful ideas.   She has an Etsy Shop with the same great printables for you to enjoy.  Let us take a look at the outstanding ideas she’s implemented at this party.

The main buffet table was a spectacular spread of delicacies in blue and white against a yellow and grey banner. The banner includes a captivating design of the chalice, loaf and grapes,  honoring the occasion. The design is placed on a yellow and grey chevron pattern. Every component of the buffet table is in it’s right place and has been perfectly chosen to match the central color theme.

The cake is simple, but beautifully executed. The silver chalice is strikingly original and stands out against the white frosting. The loaf of bread and the grapes are also given due prominence. The simple blue ribbon below the chalice integrates all the elements together, even as it adds more dimension to the cake.

Cookies in the shapes of the crucifix and the chalice are consistent with the theme. The precision of details such as the tiny grapes in the corner and the teal bordering of the chalice add finesse and elegance to the display.

Cupcakes in blue and white, decorated with silver sprinkles and shimmery blue frosting, with little crucifixes adorning them, look exquisite. The blue and white color combination is the perfect choice for a party that honors a little boy.

The Bible cookies are a great idea and so easy to recreate. These have been crafted from Fig Newtons and decorated with simple details to resemble Bibles.  I love this idea, Erika!

Vegetable dip sticks in orange and green, and bowls of fresh tropical fruits on either side of the cake add a fresh burst of color that contrasts with the rest of the subtle shades in the setting. Personalized milk chocolate wrappers draw focus to the significance of the occasion and are lavishly sprinkled throughout the arrangement.

Book marks with sacred citations make a perfect keepsake. These have been brilliantly designed to match the color scheme and theme. An excellent idea to ensure that everyone gets to take a memory of the occasion with them.

A simple tiered arrangement of sandwiches and more milk chocolate treats in the top row cater to the guests. The same motif with the chalice, loaf and grapes, as is used on the central banner, has been placed at the top of the tier.

The water bottles have labels customized for the occasion. Note the re-introduction of the motif and the chevron print from the banner here.

The design of the chalice and loaf, as well as the chevron print are repeated on the wine label. What a brilliant idea to add details of the date and occasion to the bottle to make it more special.

Pretty printables have been used to crown rice crispies which are artfully incorporated into the decor with blue zig-zag frosting. These double up as an interesting treat as well as a decor element.

Tall clear jars hold chocolate kisses and fluffy marshmallows. They are a fitting combination and look elegant and inviting.

This banner in blue draws focus to the second table. The family photo set beside the chalice adds a personal element to the decor. We have to appreciate how Erika has considered every item to be important. Printables have been employed even on the beverage dispenser and water bottles to keep with the theme.

Note the attention to detail here. The straws inside the bottle are in muted yellow and grey and are an ideal extension of the chevron print on the main banner.

Erika has done a remarkable job on this special occasion and made sure that Joshua had a party that he will remember and appreciate.  We appreciate her willingness to share the pictures of this special occasion with us.  Check out her Etsy shop for just about all of the printables you see in these photos.
