Are you in need of golf theme birthday party ideas? Well you are in luck because Lina of Fancy Frugal Life created a wonderful golf Par-tee and was kind enough to allow me to post her photos and fantastic ideas. The great thing about this party is that is just about all “Do It Yourself.”
Cupcakes – Lina did a wonderful job making these wonderful cupcakes. She started with a basic chocolate cake recipe and used green frosting to represent grass. It is quite easy to make grass. All you need is an icing tip by Wilton, number 233. It has several tiny holes that allows the frosting to come out in a super thin series of strings. There is a great You Tube video about how to use the tip. Add a colored flag and donut hole on top to serve as the golf ball.
Green Jello Cups – Lina put homemade gelatin in a transparent plastic cup and topped it with a flag. She colored the flag with green and blue-green stripes and rolled mini marshmallows to appear like tiny balls.
Sugar Cookies – Lina found some cookie cutters in the shape of a golf bag as well as a simple round one to be used for ball cookies. There are many recipes for sugar cookies and you will want to look for one that takes frosting well. Search “Best Sugar Cookies All Recipes.com” and you will find a good one.
Golf Food Ideas – One of my favorite parts of “The Fancy Frugal Life” golf party is the selection of golf theme food names. They include “On Par Peanut Butter and Jelly,” “Cadyshack Coleslaw,” and “Country Club Pasta Salad.”
Golf Party Decorations – This golf wreath is the only one I have seen of its kind. Lina made it from left over Christmas tinsel, tees, and balls. While the tinsel is blue, you could use any color that you have on hand. Cute little flag printables are draped across the wreath to give it a personal touch.
Other decoration ideas include golf silhouette signs, a bucket of balls, and a fun centerpiece sprouting grass. There is also a frame with a photo of the guest of honor. I just saw the frames at IKEA for about .99 cents each. A simple green tablecloth serves as the backdrop to all of the golf theme goodies.
