With summer winding down, I have been attending many outdoor parties and picnics. One of my favorite things to bring is a veggie tray, as many of my friends are always looking to munch on heathy items. My previous “go to” was to purchase a tray at a grocery store or Costco, however, I found that the veggies weren’t that fresh.
I would often find slimy carrots and soft cherry tomatoes. I decided to make my own tray with fresh organic vegetables from Whole Foods. Even when shopping at this pricey store, the tray was less expensive than one that was made by a store. It was also so much better tasting.
It took me only about 1/2 hour to prepare the vegetables. I purchased salsa as the dip, however, any dip would work. What made the tray it extra special was a white tray that I purchased for $1.25 at the The Dollar Tree. It made for a great presentation and I gave it to the party host who loved it.
